Benedict Cumberbatch AKA Sherlock Holmes is taking in the view from our windows at the moment, and asking the world ”Dear God, what’s it like in your funny little brains? It must be so boring”. Complimentary as ever, Sherlock Holmes’ wry wit sits beautifully in this typographic screenprint, from artist Barry D Bulsara. We are also overjoyed to re-introduce another pop icon from Barry, in the form of ‘The Dude’ below: Perfect for any home, it will really tie the room together man!
Other celebrities watching the festival from our window include Frida Kahlo, Bill Murray [as the charming Steve Zissou], John Lenon and Yoko Ono in print, brooch and earring form from illustrator And Smile. Along side Ryan Gossling, Jamie Dornan, Ryan Gosling and Taylor Swift as colouring in books ready for you to finish off.Film fans will love this most excellent Bromance print by Rich Fairhead. Bill and Ted / Turner and Hooch / Buch and Sundance…
…it seems only righ it should set up home next to The Royal Tennenbams…The sharp eyed amongst you many have already noticed that we have a ”Wee Man” and a few ‘‘Lads” in the window too. We are loving the new clip of the upcoming Star Wars film released recently, check out the wee treat below if you’ve not see it yet…
So now you understand why our pop window would not be complete without a nod to Star Wars!Barry D Bulsara’s interest in art culture and all things sci-fi combines in the above three colour screenprint. Taking reference from world reknown pop artist Roy Litchenstein, this comic strip version of ”The Kiss” features Hans Solo and Princess Leia.
Barry’s second amouous print, is clearly inspired by the pencil drawings of the lesser-seen street artist Banksy. This two colour screenprint of Stormtroopers kissing is a great talking piece.
Lastly, some of our favourite Star Wars character’s like to express themselves in Scottish slang, well, when in Rome Edinburgh… speak like Cornish artist, The Grey Earl who has moved north and loves the Glasgow ways.
That’s all from my tiny brain today, have a great bank holiday weekend, hope to see you through our windows soon 🙂
