Charlotte Farmer

Charlotte Farmer is a screen printer with a love of colour and fine detail. She studied at Saint Martins, gaining a masters in Communication Design, specialising in illustration and has been working freelance ever since – drawing, writing and also designing catalogues for a range of clients. Charlotte lives and works in the pretty city of Bath with frequent trips to Bristol for screen printing at Spike Print Studio.

Her favourite things include (not necessarily in this order): drawing, screenprinting, super bright colour combinations, making maps, coffee, collecting a variety of brush pens for hand lettering and a very spoilt cat called Margo.

The screen prints she creates often involve collections of things from snowglobes, pottery figures or ice creams to tropical birds and animals. Charlotte has a love of collections because of the way they bring together unexpected combinations of objects and characters.

Charlotte’s distinctive print works, combine her love of lo-fi tech printing methods and intense detail. Her style contrasts this precision and skill by embracing her mistakes, imperfections and more gestural mark makerly styles, to produce a series of characters and prints which are refreshingly unique and packed full of personality.
