Nightingale

This Nightingale is a recent addition to the ongoing project by Edinburgh based artist, Patrizio Belcampo. Anticipated to take a number of years to finish, the end result will be a full Avian Alphabet. Hand screenprinted in a limited edition of of only 50.

This print demonstrates the artist’s technical skill, eye for colour, composition and fondness for re-interpreting existing traditions. This fresh print series references the Victorian’s fascination of documenting and cataloging, whilst portraying a sense of debth, texture and movement from a minimal palette.

Patrizio was originally born in Ravenna, North-Eastern Italy but he has lived and worked in Edinburgh since 2003 and graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2011.
