We have fantastic, new Prints Of Pure Imagination and wonderful new Zines to discover at The Red Door Gallery. Find an art work to lose yourself in and illustrations that will transport you to new worlds. The power of imagination is here!
July is a brand new print by the talented David Fleck. Architect by day and artist by night, Fleck has created a fairy tale duo of seasonal prints. Rich green leaves surround an elevated dwelling hidden within this lush canopy. Maybe Elves or Woodland Nymphs hide inside, waiting to harvest the delicious looking fruit ripening above?
The partner print in Fleck’s seasonal series so far is October. This print uses russet tones to turn the clocks towards Autumn and our thoughts towards the mysterious dwellings illustrated within. Reminiscent of the tales of Hans Christian Andersen, we can continue to wonder what kind of magic is at home here.
More magic and tales can be found within our new range of Zines by brilliant illustrator Catherine Anne Hiley. Under the Ice is a simple story told through pictures and features Selkies, mythological creatures of Scottish folklore – also known as ‘Seal Folk’. This Zine is truly delightful and will have you wishing you were Seal Folk too!
From Seals to Octopuses. This is one of our brand new screen prints by Emily Hogarth. Octopus is a limited edition, two colour screen print that features one of the most handsome Octopi we have ever seen. With a twinkle in his eye, he has many a tale to tell from his days spent deep sea swimming in his under water world!
Countless tales and stories can be found within Edinburgh’s Old Town. A stroll down any alley can spark your imagination and the City’s Closes are shrouded in rumour and mystery. David Fleck has captured that feel of history and sense legend in his new Edinburgh print Close. The many walls, windows and hidden passageways have centuries worth of secrets to tell!
If you are impressed by these beautifully illustrated feats of the imagination, just imagine what else you could find at The Red Door Gallery! 🙂
