We have had some very pleasing new pieces arrive at our Red Door Gallery just in time for December, from brand new artists and familiar faces. So, before the festive frenzy begins we thought we’d showcase our new favourite prints and products to grace our Gallery!

Rachael Hood is a brand new artist to the Gallery, her work is set to fill our browsers and walls with bright colours and fascinating scenarios! Rachael is an artist based in Edinburgh with a great wealth of experience in illustration, print making and art direction. She has created commissions and designs for chocolate packaging, brewing companies, and illustrated books. Also art director and illustrator for Scotland’s very own Skinny Magazine, Rachael’s work has been picked up by many admirers, now including us! This charming print has us tickled pink, Jeff and Goldie is an A3 Risograph featuring a statuesque man confidently balancing a goldfish bowl upon his baseball cap, clad head. Never have we seen the like – and we love it! We are also delighted by Getting Ready For The Weekend, another A3 Risograph with excellent balancing skills!

Tom Hardwick is a familiar favourite and so are his animal creations. Tom is a prolific animal illustrator, constantly growing his animal menagerie with new and surprising species. We are always very excited to see which creatures have sparked his imagination with every delivery of his work. Brand new to the shop is this Enamel Tapir Pin which is elegantly gold and instantly recognisable with it’s long. muzzily nose and just incredibly cute! We also have a new version of his very popular Red Pandas Snoozing in Red and Green A4 print. A different colourway from his classic pink and purple version, we really dig the more autumnal vibes this print is vibing!

Alison Westwater Johnson is another brand new artist to our Gallery but also a very familiar face around the shop as she’s a top member of our fine and fancy team! A graduate of The Glasgow School of Art and now based near Edinburgh, Alison has been out and about, getting truly inspired by the Scottish landscape and all its natural flora! Her new and beautiful print offerings to the Gallery are all one of a kind and created through the process of botanical leaf printing. Foraged plant matter has been inked and printed onto paper to produce stunningly, detailed leafy prints such as Fern 2 in A3 and giving Alison’s work a marvellously close connection to nature!

Hattie Clark has recently delivered us some brand new autumnal prints to the Gallery including Autumnal Leafy Lady with all her cosy charisma and very nice knits. A great print to warm the walls if you’re feeling that wintery chill in the air. Also newly available on the website is another of her famously, popular leafy ladies, this time daydreaming in a relaxed pose amongst a curiously sci-fi, pink and aqua landscape. This Leafy Lady A3 print is a super soothing artwork that will happily chill anywhere you pace it, and look effortlessly fantastic!

This Dundee based design company are brilliantly bold and bright and they’ve brought us some magnificently jazzy and decorative homewares to lift your home into the interior design heavens! Their geometric Big Time Clock is the perfect way to add a splash of colour and pattern to your wall and will also help you run on time. New Croft Coasters are part of the Fun Makes Good new collection and they feature a lively abstracted geometric design with colours and patterns inspired by coastal living that will add bold shapes and style to your table. David Fleck has been busy once again, creating a new range of Edinburgh based prints. Over the years David has produced many different views from across Edinburgh and he has now created a print which has us gazing across the Old Town from Calton Hill. His View From Calton Hill A3 print features his classic architectural style and favourite blue lineal work with yellow windows. With Edinburgh renown for it’s abundance of beautiful and listed buildings and monuments, David has ensured the inclusion of some Corinthium columns and dreaming spires in this illustration. Also brand spanking new is the Settlement mini-series of prints which focus on balance and form, weight and filigree. With their simple and bold geometric forms, they explore the more abstract and graphic side to David’s illustration as well a his enduring love of architecture. We really think the clever slices of colour in Settlement 1 A4 and Settlement 2 A4 make these prints intriguingly beautiful.
