Shiny things for February at The Red Door Gallery

Yay you made it through January, that’s sure to be cause for celebration and a wee shiny treat to mark the start of February? Or maybe you’re on the look out for some beautiful treats for that special someone this Valentines Day? We’ve got lots of beautiful but simple Jewellery behind our Red Doors. The perfect every day wear and all handmade here in the UK, Some only a few miles from our very doors. 🙂

It seems only right that we start with the ones closest to home. We’ve worked with the talented Fiona Luing for a number of years now. We love the simplicity of her silver stacking rings, textured earrings, dome studs and most recently her necklace collection. Fiona makes all these beautiful pieces from her studio at Coburg House in sunny Leith. What’s your favourite? We love the simplicity of these Dome Studs. Available in 5 sizes, whether you want to go understated or bold theres a size for everyone. All Fiona’s jewellery is made from Sterling Silver. These studs are also available Oxidised too.

Another of the Scottish favourites is the talented duo Tom Pigeon. Based in Pittenweem, a small fishing village on the East Coast of Fife. Kirsty and Pete are known for their clean lines and geometric shapes. Their collection is both modern yet with a mid-century aesthetic. Make a statement with their new Form Panel Necklace. We love the colour combination of the dusky pink, navy and brass. If prints are more your thing then you’ll love their limited edition Artefacts Foiled Prints. These prints are inspired by collections and keepsakes and are beautifully foiled onto speckled paper.

Heading canal side now in picturesque Hebden Bridge in North Yorkshire, with Annie from Modern Alchemy. Her minimalist jewellery is inspired by architecture, artists/movements, the surrounding landscape and natural forms. Her love of geometric shapes and structures is reflected in her work. She likes to utilize simple shapes and surface textures to highlight the beauty of the materials she uses to create jewellery suitable for everyday wear.

Taking it a little further south with the creative duo Pistol and Peach from Sheffield. They like to integrate the notion of yin yang into the creation of their pieces, which marry organic and emerging materials with traditional craftsmanship and newer technologies. Lots of geometric lines and etched details add a tough edge to their beautiful jewellery made from Silver and Brass.
